RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer) gas treatment is a technology used to eliminate air pollutants from industrial processes. It involves the use of a combustion chamber to oxidize volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) by converting them into carbon dioxide and water vapor, which are then released into the atmosphere. There are mainly two types of RTO gas treatment systems, the two-chamber RTO and the three-chamber RTO.
The two-chamber RTO gas treatment system consists of two main chambers: the combustion chamber and the heat recovery chamber. The incoming contaminated air is directed into the combustion chamber, where it is heated to a high temperature and oxidized. The hot, clean gas is then passed through the heat recovery chamber, where the heat is transferred to the incoming contaminated air. The clean gas is then released into the atmosphere.
The three-chamber RTO gas treatment system consists of three main chambers: the combustion chamber, the heat recovery chamber, and the preheating chamber. The incoming contaminated air is first passed through the preheating chamber, where it is heated to the optimum operating temperature. It is then directed into the combustion chamber, where it is heated to a high temperature and oxidized. The hot, clean gas is then passed through the heat recovery chamber, where the heat is transferred to the incoming contaminated air. The clean gas is then released into the atmosphere.
