A thermal oxidizer system is an essential component in commercial buildings for controlling and reducing air pollution. It is designed to remove harmful pollutants from exhaust gases by using high temperatures to break down volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs).

Thermal oxidizer systems operate on the principle of combustion, where the VOCs and HAPs are oxidized into carbon dioxide and water vapor. The system consists of a burner, combustion chamber, and heat exchanger. The exhaust gases pass through the combustion chamber, which is heated by the burner, and the pollutants are oxidized at high temperatures.

In a thermal recuperative oxidizer, the heat exchanger recovers the heat from the flue gases, preheats the incoming gases, and minimizes energy consumption.

An RTO system uses ceramic beds to store and recover heat, resulting in high thermal efficiency and lower operating costs.

A catalytic oxidizer utilizes a catalyst to lower the required operating temperature, increasing the oxidation rate and reducing energy consumption.
