Een regeneratieve thermische oxide (RTO) is een verbrandingsapparaat dat vluchtige organische stoffen (VOS), gevaarlijke luchtverontreinigende stoffen (HAP's) en geuren controleert door emissies om te zetten in (destructieve) emissies en door warmte te gebruiken om emissies om te zetten in CO2 en H2O en deze vervolgens in de atmosfeer vrij te laten. Hoe werkt een regeneratieve thermische oxidator?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n
Regeneratieve thermische oxidatoren (RTOS) werken door lucht gevuld met verontreinigende stoffen door het peroxide te duwen. Meestal gebeurt dit via een systeemventilator.<\/li>\n
De luchtstroom door de RTO wordt geregeld door een klep die de luchtstroom naar een van de twee warmtewisselaars leidt (een kamer met een keramisch di\u00eblektrisch bed).<\/li>\n
De RTO moet ten minste twee keramische di\u00eblektrische bedden (zadels en\/of gestructureerde di\u00eblektrische blokken) als warmtewisselaars hebben. Wanneer vuile lucht door het eerste mediumbed stroomt, absorbeert het warmte van het hete keramische medium en komt vervolgens in de verbrandingskamer.<\/li>\n
In de verbrandingskamer wordt vuile lucht op een temperatuur (> 1500\u00b0F) gehouden met een specifieke verblijftijd (> 5 seconden). Dit oxideert VOC's en HAP tot koolstofdioxide en waterdamp.<\/li>\n
Warme en schone lucht verlaat de verbrandingskamer en komt in het tweede keramische mediumbed terecht om warmte op te nemen voor hergebruik.<\/li>\n
