Belangrijkste bronnen van vluchtige organische stoffen:<\/h3>\n

Buitenshuis, voornamelijk door de verbranding van brandstoffen en het transport van industri\u00eble afvalgassen, uitlaatgassen van auto's, fotochemische vervuiling;<\/p>\n

Binnenshuis is het afkomstig van verbrandingsproducten zoals steenkool en aardgas, rook van roken, verwarming en koken, en emissies van bouw- en decoratiematerialen, meubels, huishoudelijke apparaten, schoonmaakmiddelen en het menselijk lichaam zelf. In de interieurbouw en decoratietechniek komen vluchtige organische stoffen voornamelijk voor in verf, coatings en lijmen. Het VOS-gehalte in verf is over het algemeen 30 tot 70 gram per liter.
